Speaking

On a daily basis, you’ll find me juggling my roles as a wife, mom of four, and Director of Women’s Ministry at my local church. To give my best to these important people in my life, particularly my husband and children, I limit my number of speaking engagements each year. However, I consider it both a joy and privilege to connect with new faces and share messages of God’s hope, so I prayerfully consider every opportunity.

I have spoken to young girls, teens, and women’s groups at bible studies, club meetings, luncheons, church events, and retreats. My topics with their descriptions are listed below, and all messages can be done either as keynotes or in a multi-session format. I can also create a message tailored for your event if circumstances and timing allow.

Mission

Outside of her roles as a wife and mother, Kelley’s passion is to connect with women through emotional honesty, relatable stories, and biblical wisdom. She also finds joy in equipping women to study the Bible with a curious mind and a confident heart. Tackling relevant issues with both scripture and practical suggestions, her messages encourage you to:

  • Shed the burden of disillusionment and build a faith that’s resilient.
  • Trade superficial habits for genuine encounters with God.

  • Kindle a curiosity for God’s Living Word, exchanging weariness for wonder.

  • Harness your God-given gifts and passion and unleash the joy of putting your faith into action.

  • Prioritize vulnerability over an Insta-worthy image and experience the life-giving connectedness of authentic community.

Kelley’s Messages

Unshaken: Standing Firm when Reality Rocks your World

In a society that promotes and rewards picture-perfect lives, we’ve been subtly deceived by lies that perfection is attainable, suffering can be avoided, and self-protection is critical. So when reality shatters these expectations, it’s not surprising that we find our faith rocked and our souls disillusioned. Kelley employs God’s Word, personal stories, and even a little “tough love” to help you:

  • Recognize cultural lies so you can eliminate sources of disappointment and redefine reality.

  • Reduce fear of suffering by spiritually preparing to flourish through it.

  • Seek sacred moments in the darkness rather than find the quickest escape route to light.

Let’s Be Real

One of women’s greatest needs is to feel known and understood. But in the words of Cinderella’s wicked stepmother, “This is, perhaps, the greatest risk - to be seen for who we really are.” Out of fear, we trade vulnerability for the protective barriers of busyness, perfection, stoicism, or even shyness. Following the model of the apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians, Kelley discusses the importance and benefits of personal transparency and authentic community. In this message, you will:

  • Heighten awareness of issues that can lead us to keep our distance from God so we don’t hinder intimacy.

  • Identify the causes of our struggle with transparency before others so we can embrace freedom to live unveiled lives for the glory of God.

  • Generate ideas to create a warm and safe environment so women feel comfortable sharing their hearts.

Called

Do you ache to make a difference but wonder how your dreams or gifts fit into your everyday life? Our calling may look different from season to season, but every assignment is important in His great story. Kelley helps you to:

  • Develop a ready heart so you can embrace your primary call as a follower of Christ.

  • Discern opportunities to use your gifts in ways that fit your current season of life.

  • Identify your personal roadblocks to obedience so you can move forward in your calling with confidence and purpose.

The Anchor of our Souls

We live in a culture that is anti-commitment, but deep down we all yearn for something steady and sure. When storms arise in our lives, what we’re holding onto can either keep us afloat.... or shipwreck us. Examining Hebrews 6:13-20, this message will help you:

  • Find true security instead of searching endlessly in the wrong places.

  • Discover how the basic principles of seafarers can help us stay steady in our spiritual journey so we remain connected to our hope.

Holiday message:
Embracing (and Enjoying) the Chaos of Christmas

As much as we’d like to simplify the hustle and bustle of the Christmas holidays, the reality is that the season will always be busy and unpredictable. With practical and organizational tips, Kelley helps you prepare for the season by planning well, shifting expectations, and making choices that benefit your family. She also attunes your heart to finding Jesus in the both the calm and the chaotic.

Statement of Faith

GOD

I believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is the Creator and Sustainer of all things. He is all-powerful, all-knowing, omnipresent, and sovereign.

MANKIND

I believe that mankind was created in the image of God to glorify Him and enjoy Him forever.

SIN

I believe that the disobedience of Adam and Eve led to the fall of man, causing all people to be born into sin. Because of our sinful nature, we are eternally separated from God and completely incapable of doing anything on our own to restore our relationship to the Father. Only through faith in Jesus Christ our Savior can we be restored to right standing before Him.

JESUS CHRIST

I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who came to earth and took on the form of a human while also remaining fully God. I believe he was born of the Virgin Mary, lived a perfect and sinless life, died a substitutionary death on the cross for the sins of the world in order to reconcile God’s people to Himself, was physically resurrected three days after this death, ascended into heaven, and will one day personally return to establish his Kingdom on earth. I believe all power and authority belong to Jesus and that He reigns in heaven, seated at the right hand of the Heavenly Father and interceding on our behalf.

SALVATION

I believe in salvation through faith in Jesus Christ, by His grace and not by works.

THE HOLY SPIRIT

I believe God has given the Holy Spirit to believers as a seal and promise of our inheritance in Him. The Holy Spirit empowers believers through wisdom, revelation, counsel, and comfort.

THE CHURCH

I believe in the Church as the body of Christ with Jesus as the head. I believe that the purpose of the church is to encourage and build up the body of believers, bring glory to God, proclaim the good news of salvation, and make disciples of all nations.

SCRIPTURE

I believe the Bible is God’s revelation and living Word to His people, written my men but divinely inspired. I believe that the original writings of the Bible are inerrant and infallible.

ETERNITY

I believe Jesus will return in all His glory to judge the living and the dead and to establish His earthly reign. I believe in the bodily resurrection of believers to eternally dwell in the presence of God while unbelievers suffer eternal punishment and separation from God.

Professional Bio

KelleyBrown-1.jpg

Kelley Brown was born in Birmingham, Alabama, but spent her formative years in the quaint, northern town of Sparta, New Jersey. Finishing high school in Alpharetta, Georgia, she attended Auburn University where she graduated with honors and subsequently earned a Master’s Degree in Communication. After working in Public Relations and Marketing for several years, Kelley pursued her dream of earning a Master of Theological Studies degree at Beeson Divinity School. Her time in seminary fostered a deep commitment to honoring God’s Word by interpreting and applying Scripture with accuracy and care.

Kelley has served in women’s ministry for 15+ years as a writer, speaker, and bible study teacher. She also combines her event planning experience and passion for discipleship as the Director of Women’s Ministry at her church in Birmingham, Alabama.

Kelley’s lifelong fascination with words compels her to express complex emotions and theological concepts in words that she hopes will stir women’s souls. She serves on the Writing Team for First 5, a Bible study app from Proverbs 31 Ministries. She has also written for several Christian publications including LifeWay’s devotional guide Journey and The Upper Room. As host of the weekly StoryTellers Live podcast, Kelley has the privilege of hearing and celebrating women’s personal, redemptive stories of God’s transforming love.

People are typically surprised to learn that Kelley is actually introverted by nature, older than she looks (freckles are her anti-aging secret!), and slightly obsessed with British royalty. She and her husband, Scott, live in Birmingham, Alabama, with their four children.  With two daughters adopted from China, they advocate orphan care and adoption.
